15Come vincere un torneo – parte seconda

La settimana scorsa abbiamo discusso sull’importanza di non modificare la propria strategia solo perchè si gioca un torneo; abbiamo risposto a tre domande sullo stile da adottare in un torneo ed abbiamo sottolineato il fatto che c’è poca differenza tra la strategia quando si gioca cash oppure in un torneo. Questa settimana vorrei approfondire quest’ultimo punto rispondendo ad una quarta domanda e discutere delle due situazioni nelle quali è giusto cambiare strategia.
La quarta domanda è: la diversa struttura di guadagno tra il gioco cash ed i tornei ha una sua importanza oppure no?
Si, la differenza tra il torneo ed il gioco cash è che vieni premiato in base a quanto tempo duri al tavolo e non in base al numero di chips che riesci ad accumulare.
Nel gioco cash le chips che risparmi quando foldi hanno lo stesso valore delle chips che vinci. In un torneo, le chips che risparmi hanno invece un valore superiore.
Prendiamo l’esempio di un torneo con un buy-in di $1.000 a cui partecipano 100 giocatori ed il vincente prende $40.000 del montepremi totale ($100.000)
All’inizio del torneo, tutti i giocatori hanno 1.000 in chips il cui valore è $1.000 ed il vincitore finale avrà 100,000 chips. If we were a cash game, the winner will have $ 100,000. In a tournament, those are worth $ 100,000 and $ 40,000 as a result we can say that for every 1,000 in chips is valued at $ 400. Every time your stack increases, the value of your chips down. This means that you should not take unnecessary risks in tournaments than in a cash game (if you are against the idea of \u200b\u200bnot taking unnecessary risks, it probably wants to say that you are playing outside bankroll).
That said, there are two cases in which change their strategy could help:
1. When you have more money
If you are short you should be extremely careful when you decide to put your chips nel piatto, soprattutto quando chiami una puntata.

Bisogna comunque tenere presente che anche i giocatori con uno stack grande non vogliono confrontarsi contro di te: vogliono solo rubarti delle chips senza troppe difficoltà. Devi essere pronto a rispondere a questo tipo di provocazioni. Alla fine diventa un gioco in cui gli stack more trying to figure out which player with an average stack is easier to steal the blinds.
2. At the final table
There is little to adjust until it is missing a player at the final table. In this case, it is good to play a bit more closed since the prizes began to be more substantial.
Always look for opportunities to put pressure on other players, especially those with a smaller stack. This is good advice throughout the final table. And how do you
comprta during the final heads up?
There is no need to adjust their strategy: You are now playing with the formula 'winner take all 'and the difference is the prize for the first and second place.
Remember: any changes to your strategy during a tournament should be light. It is very rare that your strategy must change radically. If in doubt, think about just playing your best poker and you do not ever change your strategy, then it means that you have many chances to win.
